An exploration of retro video games on original consoles in RGB

Tecmo Bowl & Tecmo Super Bowl

Somehow it feels like quite an accomplishment to have completed the second video on The bums rush! This time we are playing two games: Tecmo Bowl (1989) and its sequel, Tecmo Super Bowl (1991).

If it’s not evident already, these are football games, and they have a surprising amount of detail given they were made for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Not only that, but they are downright fun to play, even for someone who doesn’t play a lot of sports games.

The original NES console used in this video was modified with Tim Worthington’s NESRGB mod (version 4.0) to produce an RGB analog signal.

The RGB signal was sent through the gscart switch v5.3 before being upscaled to 1080p in 60 frames per second with the RetroTINK 5X.
